Dr. Rosemary Coll/Rósmáire Ní Cholla is the Digital Curator with DRI at NUI Galway. She was appointed to this role in Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, Carna in September 2012. She is a contributor to WP4 in the delivery of enriched metadata structures with respect to Irish-language and bilingual data, metadata, data standards, and media formats. She also contributes to the NUIG demonstrator project in WP10, encompassing the themes of Irish-language content-contextualisation and intangible cultural heritage.
Her research focuses in the main on Irish and Celtic Studies. Her MA thesis Banba 1901-1906, Cúlra, Comhthéacs agus Innéacs, explores the background and context and provides an index to this early 20th Century Irish journal. Her PhD thesis Aspects of the Verb in 17th Century Irish Texts is a linguistic investigation of several key grammatical constructions in a corpus of 17th Century Irish texts.
She has over 20 years experience as a secondary teacher of Irish and Mathematics and more recently has taught adult learners of Irish at the University of Ulster, Magee Campus, Derry.
